- The brief
- What started as Nathan's own experiments has grown into a line of original Chapel Arts pieces — sculptural, functional, and unmistakably ours. Swell is what happens when the shop builds for itself: no client brief, just the question of how far solid wood can be pushed.
- The wood
- Solid hardwoods, hand-selected from our racks — walnut above all, with lighter species for contrast — each top matched to the base sculpted to carry it.
- The build
- Tops and bases are machined on the same large-format CNC routers that run our trade work, then faired and finished by hand. It's the clearest proof of how we work: modern precision doing the heavy lifting, a craftsman's hand knowing when to stop.
- The result
- A growing family of dining tables, coffee tables and pedestal rounds — and the best introduction to what Chapel Arts is about. See the pieces in person at a First Saturdays open studio.
